This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a very diverse group of students. Some are students who have experienced great opportunities, while others need to have the opportunities provided to them. That is where I step in! My students love a change of pace; they love to be active and desire to explore, collaborate, and create. Solving mysteries, debating opinions, and figuring things out are exciting learning moments in my class.
Being a science teacher, I need to keep my students engaged and show what they are learning and how they can apply that knowledge in the world around them.
Benjamin Franklin once said, “Tell me, and I forget, teach me, and I may remember, involve me, and I learn.”
My struggling students, English learners, and native English speakers are often excited and ready to engage in scientific discussions involving inquiry and research investigations. These types of activities help engage every student in the classroom and provide a way for them to explore their thoughts by building on ideas from others.
My students are curious and ready to explore the scientific world through hands-on activities and technology that enhances their research.
My Project
I am creating science stations, hands-on activities, and experiments so I can target my students who need more time and more guidance with me while giving my higher-level students the ability to get more creative and become more independent.
They will need the requested supplies to create their Interactive Notebooks and showcase their learning while in specific stations.
This allows students to learn various ways while using diverse learning methods.
In today's society, students need an interactive environment in order to succeed in their learning environment. School supplies, such as the ones I am requesting, are greatly reduced after Christmas, but our creativity does not. These supplies will ensure my students will continue to create and learn in their stations.
