My students are some of the greatest kids that I have met. I have taught many years now, and the character and intelligence that these kids have are beyond anything that I have seen.
Our school is a Pre-K to eighth grade, and it is a privilege to watch all of these students grow from the babies that enter with smiles or tears and leave for high school with the most amazing futures in front of them.
They are amazing!
Returning to school may have been scary for many of our students. At our school, we are required to wear masks for the safety of students, teachers, and staff. We miss seeing those smiling faces as they come through the door. We tell them silly jocks as they enter, but during RED Ribbon week, we saw so many happy faces as they entered the building to find us dressed up in our daily themed-costumes. So, a brilliant idea was formed to make each day just as special!
These costumes and disguises will make the students smile daily; we'll get to see the sparkle in the eyes.
As we take temperatures and well-check tickets from the students, why not do it in style, and by style I mean dress up in goofy costumes for the emotional benefit of our students.
We, teachers, will do anything to help our students feel socially connected and ensure a positive start to their day!
