My Students

Money is one of the most ever lasting concepts that students learn in school. Its very important that they initially learn about it in an interesting and fun way!

My students come from a mostly disadvantaged background and come to school with little background experience.

They, like their families, are hard working and eager to learn. My kindergarten students are empty vessels just waiting for someone to fill them up with knowledge and information.

My Project

These resources will greatly impact my students and their working knowledge of money for not only this school year but for years to come. Kindergarten is the first step in identifying money, its value and why it is important to know these things. The resources will help students understand the complex ins and outs of coins and their characteristics. My students need these money materials in order to concretely understand this very abstract concept. I am requesting a coins patterning box, big coin bulletin board, plastic coins, money bingo and much, much, more.

This donation would be life changing for my students.

Money is such a universally difficult concept for students to understand and these games and manipulatives would provide an opportunity for deeper meaning and greater understanding. These math games would provide a fun opportunity for my students to learn with hands on activities, which increases student learning and achievement.
