Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My special needs students view each day as an opportunity to learn and explore the world around them. They develop their minds with new skills every day. My incredible students are filled to the brim with energy and enthusiasm for learning.
Our school is Title I and located in a low socioeconomic community with limited resources.
All of my students receive free school lunch and are classified as English language learners. As part of a special day program, my students must be exposed to grade level standards. As a result, my students must be organized and able to quickly access materials for the appropriate skills set and activities of the day.
Students in my classroom are students with special needs like Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia, and several other disabilities.
My Project
I have a group of wonderful students with special needs who are eager to learn. A majority of my students can add and subtract to 10 without manipulatives. My next step is to help them understand that pennies and nickels are the same as counting 1 to 10.
In a classroom where some students have orthopedic impairments, the pixel book is easy to carry and accessible to ALL students.
There are wonderful websites and videos that I want to access on the chromebook pixel book to show my students about money.
Learning at an early age can build students' financial literacy. The pixel book is large enough for everyone to view from the rug. Please help to empower my students to be financially literate!
