I am a newly appointed STEM teacher with 10+ years of experience as an early childhood general education teacher. I teach in a high needs, Title One, school. Our school is new, sixth year in, replacing a school that has phased out. WE HAVE TO STAND OUT!
My students are mostly from shelters or foster homes in the area, which are all riddled with gang violence, drugs and guns.
This creates a very transient population for our school and a hardship on our dedicated staff. Our children have seen and experienced more in their short little lives than most of us could dream of in our worst nightmares.
Despite this, I want to inspire them to be better and do better. The ability to open their eyes and show them that there is more out there in the world is my goal for this school year! "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." ~Henry Adams
Being able to interact with your learning is what makes it exciting! I am trying to create a fully interactive STEM classroom that will allow students the ability to engage in their own learning. With the IPEVO and a Optoma S341 projector we are given mobility as apposed to a stationary whiteboard.
Children are growing up in a technological world of excitement and animation, their learning should match that!
My STEM classroom will come to life with the ability to project and interact with the lessons being taught. I know my students will appreciate you making this possible for them. Please help us support creativity by building an interactive classroom!
