My Project

Title: "Shoreline Shells: Exploring Marine Diversity"

Project Overview:

In this hands-on and educational project, rural Alaskan school students will embark on a fascinating journey to explore the diverse world of shells found along their local shoreline.

Through collecting, identifying, and presenting these shells in a creative and visually appealing manner, students will not only learn about marine life but also develop their observational skills and artistic abilities.

Students will take their collected specimens and identify those with common and older students will include the scientific names. They will section off a watercolor paper to fit their specimen sizes and the overall size will fit inside the shadow box. Students will paint and label the sections, then mount their specimens in the spaces. Finally, students will enclose their water with the specimens inside their display cases and hang in a school exhibit before taking home.

Ms. Sheryl will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 2.
