This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
These students range from 9th-12th grade. They are participating in Archery as a school sport. There is a wide range of learning levels and some are special education students. All students come from low-income households.
Some of them really become leaders in the group just by helping the others who are new to Archery.
This is a great sport for any student because you really do not have to be a true athlete to participate. The students learn how to get along and encourage each other and it really helps build teamwork and confidence on the team as well as in the classroom.
My Project
My student-athletes need these targets to help them achieve their goal of becoming conference champions! These targets will allow them to clearly see the bullseye of the target and improve their accuracy in Archery! The students have targets now that have many holes in them because they have been used so much. The students have difficulty scoring their shots.
These new targets will be used for team practice as well as for competitions.
The student-athletes will be able to easily calculate their score and improve it each time they practice because the new targets will be easy to see the bullseye.
