My Students

My students and their inquisitive nature are the best parts of teaching social studies. So naturally, I want to provide them with the necessary tools and learning environment to foster that inquisitive nature. We have been working with out-of-date atlases and lighting that just doesn’t work for us. We have been working through several legs of an Amazing Race (social studies class version), which means lots of atlas usage. Now that they have a better grasp on world geography, they’re realizing some of the updates needed with our atlases.

My Project

Both my seventh and eighth-grade classes do a lot of geography work, so having an up-to-date atlas for that work is super important. The atlases are used in class, so I have only requested a class set of 25. But they would get used nearly every day between our Do First Questions and various assignments like our Amazing Race and its geographic detours!

My students and I both struggle with our fluorescent lighting and have requested some floor lamps that will better suit our needs.

We needed lighting that was in between the fluorescent interrogation lighting and complete darkness!!
