My Students

I serve the highest needs students in an already high need school. Our students have life circumstances that make it hard to focus. The world has been unkind to many of them.They need as much energy and resources as we can foster.

Yet, every day they come back.

They try again even when they are stressed. Their young spirits are the best part about the future. They are beautiful and bright. I wish every person got the chance to see the strength and hope these young people show everyday.

My Project

I realized that my students and colleagues need more concrete ways to deal with anxiety and depression and decrease symptoms that create barriers to learning. I was accepted to this program and given a partial scholarship! I am very excited to bring what I learn back to my high school.

Breathe for change will be an intense nine weekends for me.

The physical and mental challenge will be a new adventure where I hope to gain the knowledge to use wellness as a vehicle for social change.

I do believe it is time to shift how we see mental health especially for teens.
