Help me give my students a class set (19) of headphones, so that they are able to use the computers for i-ready our county selected computer program more effectively.
I teach Second grade in a Title 1 school in Northeast, Florida. I have a very diverse group of students both academically and ethnically. Second grade is the stepping stone to the upper grades. They start to find where they fit in. Getting ready to go into the testing grades.
My student's are like little sponges.
They are ready willing and eager to learn.
They have learned to read, now they are using what they know and applying it. They enjoy reading books, writing, learning new math strategies/skills and science. I want to be able to provide the proper supplies and materials that they need in order to encourage their imaginations. They are truly an incredible group and I am so lucky to be able to teach such a eager and great group each year.
My Project
All of my students want to be able to hear their computer when they are working with it. Especially when they are working on I-Ready our computer based assessment that we use here in Duval county for grades K-2. If they do not have headphones they have to turn their computer down very low and then it is hard for them to get the full effect of the program.
Unable to hear a program that is made for visually and hearing purposes, defeats the whole purpose.
So, these headphones are very important to my classroom. They also need to be able to focus and concentrate on what they are working on. If they had headphones, they would be more prone to be able to do this. This is why my classroom is in such a need for headphones.
