My Project

This project aims to build a vibrant, engaging picture book collection for Pre-K through 1st grade students. Early access to a variety of books is critical to literacy development. These books support foundational skills like vocabulary growth, print awareness, and comprehension, all while encouraging joyful, self-directed exploration of stories.

By filling The Shelldon Shelves with high-quality, diverse, and developmentally appropriate picture books, we are giving our youngest learners access to the kinds of stories that captivate their attention, spark their imaginations, and foster an early love of reading.

This project helps ensure that every child sees themselves as a reader from the very beginning of their educational journey.
