My students have been using the new light table materials to build towers, houses for animals and other structures. As I slowly over time introduce the new items they are thrilled to explore with them. When my students saw the new materials they were so excited to open the boxes and tryout the new items. \r\n\r\nI put some of the items into our block play center and the students have been creating many things with the materials. They used the fences to build homes for the farm animals. They used other objects and the people to build towns and houses. The creativity is already flowing!\r\n\r\nNext, I would like to continue to add more items that allow open and freedom to explore various materials and creations. We did an unboxing of the dramatic play materials and the students could not wait for me to put the stuff in the play area the next day.\r\n\r\nWhen they had the chance to go and play, students were using the new clothes to dress their baby dolls. They were pretending to feed them and even use the carriers to take their baby dolls on a \"walk.\" \r\n\r\nMy next steps will be to continue to add to the dramatic play area house theme. Students are learning skills such as responsibility and turn taking.
