I work with students in a low income community that have special needs. All of my students are below grade level and are working every day towards their goals. Many of my students say that they do not have access to educational technology at home.
My students say they love to come to school because we make school a fun place to be.
School is a safe, consistent environment for my students which many do not receive at home. I work every day for my students to love their educational journey.
My Project
I am asking for sheet protectors and vis-a-vis markers in order to make intervention binders for each of my students. I teach in a Second Grade Resource Classroom for students with special needs. I have around twenty students that I will see daily at various times throughout the day. During that time, the students will work one-on-one and in small groups on specific skills.
These intervention binders will allow special needs students to practice beginning reading and math skills which will all them to become fluent within reading and math computation.
Each day, the students will pull out their individual intervention binder and will use the markers and sheet protectors to write and work out problems right on the page. This will allow us to save time copying pages and will save on paper. This will also make instruction time more efficient and will allow students to work throughout the binder through the course of the year.
