I teach English to high school students in upstate New York. Our area was home to many corporations and small businesses, but as the economy has shifted, so has this area. My goal is to encourage our students to become successful futures members of society in the hopes that they will give back to the area they grew up in.
I am always looking for ways to engage and motivate my students when starting, working through, and completing different units.

My Project
Every Spring, my students spend at least a month discovering and reading poetry. With that, they themselves become poets and write their own poetry. One of their favorite forms of poetry that we do is Black Out Poetry.
