Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school in a major city and a lot of our students come from difficult home lives. It's a high poverty area, and this year our school budget has been cut severely. We need your help!
We are one of the few schools in the area that has a strong art program, and I am so grateful for it.
Over the past six years that I have been here, I have seen more and more students turn to art as a form of expression. These students love art, and I think it's important to keep that love growing.
My Project
My older students love using sharpies for projects. It looks more vibrant than a regular marker and often gives their work the nice and neat touch that they are looking for. whenever I say we are going to outline in Sharpie they get excited.
However, as the school year is coming to an end I realize that we need way more sharpies to for next year!
Most have them have either dried out or gone missing.
I am also asking for a paper divider for our room. I teach grades 4-8th so it's very important to stay organized! The paper divider I currently use is falling apart because it has been moved around over the years. I am worried it's going to completely fall apart over summer.
