This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing individuals that need hands-on opportunities to feel successful! I teach mostly English language learners at a Title I school and this year we are starting the school year virtually!
During distance learning, my students relied on my assistance on a daily basis to use their devices/technology for live streaming lessons as well as for assistance with their assignments.
For language learners having to see teachers daily through live streams is very important.
My students come to school each day excited to learn, but unfortunately that excitement dwindles away when confronted with the harsh reality that they need a lot of remedial support. More of the same is not what they need; innovative intervention is needed to make them succeed in school. Together, we can make their academic success a reality!
My Project
My students are in constant need of a sharpened pencil for in class assignments and assessments. Unfortunately, without a working classroom sharpener, this is hard to accomplish.
With your generosity, you would ensure each student has access to a reliable sharpener.
Writing is just not as fun with dull pencils!
This might see like a simple project in the sea of innovative projects to choose from but I assure you that it will bring lots of joy to my students and their teacher alike! I plan on using the brighter color post its on our bulletin board to make their learning more interactive and create an appealing classroom environment.
This project will also create more independence within our classroom as we move towards more independence among classroom materials and their own.
