My students are amazing and eager to learn. They are inquisitive and self-motivated. Most come from disadvantaged homes and communities but still come to school looking for something or someone to encourage their drive for success.
As individuals they are unique but as a group they are extraordinary.
Whether they work alone or together, they strive to do their best. The best description for my kids is that they are winners in every sense of the word. They are funny, smart, hard-working, and imaginative. Many work after school and still play sports. Though children, some are the financial support in their homes. They are determined to give their best and expect that of their teachers. I have high expectations for my kids and seldom do they not rise to the occasion.
If you look at our cover picture you will see that outlining brings a story to life. It allows the story to have a permanence that won't fade over time. The students who create the project will be able to look at it in years to come and feel pride in their creation, as will students who are seeing it for the first time.
We want our students to have lasting memories and learning that endures.
Students who have multiple options, choices and the materials needed for their choices become more engaged, invested in their learning and excited for the end product.
Whether it is a comic strip, a one-pager, outlining the words on a poster board or a story board all students need materials to create amazing projects.
