Students have already checked the books out of my library and are excited about reading them. We are using the board games to build critical thinking skills, and the kids are loving it. They are showing their understanding of vocabulary and critical thinking skills through the board games and activities. \r\n\r\nMy students were the most excited for the headphones and earbuds. They are accustomed to having the big, bulky headphones that draw attention and don't work half of the time. These headphones are fairly discreet and look like headphones other students may be using. These help to build confidence instead of shame for needing the headphones in the first place. \r\n\r\nMy students were ecstatic when they saw all of the boxes and supplies. They helped me unpack and put the items where they belong. I plan to incorporate more critical thinking activities in the form of short amounts of time with the board and word games. As I play with them, I can use their answers as teaching moments. We are coming up on a writing unit.
