My students are all high achievers, but don't always show their parents how much they are learning in Spanish class. Many times this is because it can be intimidating to speak in a new language when you are not sure if you are doing things correctly or if you don't know if you are able to be understood.
The students in my Spanish classes are capable of communicating in a variety of situations and need the ability to show their parents what they are learning.
Sometimes, all their parents know is that their kids have learned how to say "¡Hola!" but are unaware of how much they are absorbing and are able to use in real-world situations.
My Project
My goal is to help my students share more about what they are learning in class with their families. A lot of students may not want to speak in class, but by giving the Family Playlists, students will have specific tasks to share or re-teach to their families to become more confident in class.
We live in a day and age where one-on-one communication is not always the most easy in a classroom setting, but learning a language is all about communicating!
By giving students access to this tool, they will be able to become more confident before they come to class. Students will have practiced with their families and can be more prepared to interact with their peers using the current topics and/or help reteach topics to their peers
