My students need water, snacks, lotion, bandaids, hand sanitizer and tissues to stay focused during the instruction and make them feel they are protected and cared for.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is located in Stone Mountain, GA. Majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Many of them have no homes, they live in nearby motels. I service students with special needs in an interrelated setting. Because of their environmental setting and deficit skills, their self-esteem and socialization skills are at very minimal. They come to school expecting teachers to care, love and provide for their needs.
My special need students need to take care of basic things inside the class such as bandaids and lotions and as well as hand sanitizer, tissues, and water to protect themselves from this flu season.
Every now and then, my students' learning is disturbed because they are either hungry, thirsty, or having their dry skin causing them to itch and bleed or their seasonal allergies bothering them to look for tissues and sanitizer.
My Project
I am requesting the necessary materials to keep my students to feel they are cared, loved and protected inside the classroom. The snacks and water will help my students to make sure they are well nourished in the mornings to stay focus even when they missed their breakfast. As Flu season is striking the US very hard, hand sanitizers and tissues will help my classroom and students to maintain hygiene. Bandaids and lotions will keep my students to stay inside class and take care of their minor needs. This will help them to focus in their learning and be a successful student.
