My Project

One of the most important skills I work on with students is self advocacy! Self advocacy includes; learning to be independent, communicating their wants and needs, how they feel, understanding their environment, and learning to practice healthy habits.

Visual supports (pictures and schedules) help to increase a students independence.

These visual supports allows a student to be prompted using his environment, rather than another person. The laminator and card stock will help to make these visuals for the class and for each students individual needs. Having a paper towel dispenser will decrease the opportunity of sharing germs, the dispenser will only have one available to take. Thus, the students will independently take only one.
