Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my first-grade classroom, we will learn about 2D and 3D shapes. Students will learn about various shapes and explore the world of shapes around them. My students love to learn with hands-on, creative activities.
Geoboards with rubber bands and a geometric shapes building set will bring shapes to life for my students and allow them to be creative as they participate in hands-on activities.
These tools will no doubt spark their creativity and imagination and boost their learning.
Students will use these large geoboards and rubber bands to make 2D shapes and learn about the relationship between shapes. Having a class set will help maximize the time each student can spend using this important learning tool. The geometric shapes building set will be used in small-groups and centers where students can build their own 3D shapes.
These materials will bring great benefit to students and make learning fun in the classroom. My students will love to use these tools as they learn.
