This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 7th graders in an urban area in NJ. It is a low-income, low-achieving school.

Shakespeare. . . Shakespeare. . . where fore art thou? I worked with my kids to read Shakespeare last year, using no actual books. I feel it would be a better adventure with the actual books for each student.

I need 30 copies of Shakespeare's Othello. Shakespeare's works offers such a variety of language, imagery, metaphors, etc. that will help these kids enormously, preparing them for the future. It is their personal interest in Shakespeare that captured my heart. This book is very difficult to read, but so relevant in their lives. They have so much to learn in this urban area, and I feel reading these kinds of works will prepare them better for high school and beyond.

Your donation will mean so much to me and the kids. Our library doesn't have copies of this particular work, and it is difficult to get a shipment of such a size. Instead of waiting and "hoping" for help from the district, I turn to YOU. . . YOU count more!
