This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our AP-for-all, college-preparatory school offers students a rigorous curriculum that they might begin to realize their post-secondary academic and professional goals. My students value hard work and believe anyone can "grow smarter" with effective effort.

Comprised of a rich mosaic of diverse experiences and backgrounds, my classroom makes room for radical questioning of taken-for-granted frameworks and ideologies.

My role consists of facilitating their learning the language and composition so necessary to critically read, write, and think about a complex and troubled world that needs their heads, hands, and hearts.

My Project

AP World History is the first required AP course for our students, and they five-subject spiral notebooks to organize the vast content of the course. Many of our kids cannot afford them. Please help me to support them academically by supporting them financially.

My students learn best when they play, and plays are a great way to play!

They love the gender-bender love-madness of TWELFTH NIGHT and the educational metamorphoses of PYGMALION. The photocopied class-sets we currently use are neither sustainable nor playful. Please help us enrich our learning by expanding our reading list to include Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT and Shaw's PYGMALION.
