My Students

Zoltan Kodaly once said, "Real art is one of the most powerful forces in the rise of mankind, and he who renders it accessible to as many people as possible is a benefactor of humanity."

Our school is a Title I school with 55% of students receiving free/reduced lunches.

Many of our students come from military families and relocate often. Most students do not have access to a variety of instruments at home but they love making music in the classroom. They are eager to learn every day. They ask thoughtful questions and work together to synergize and make great music!

My Project

My students need a maraca set for our music room so we can participate ensemble music making activities. Envision 25 or more students sitting in a circle creating, improvising, and synergizing together all using percussion and Orff instruments. Ensemble lessons I have taught in the past have always been a favorite with my kindergarten through 5th grade music students. In music making lessons, students will feel the sense of accomplishment and community by playing in an ensemble!

By donating to this project students will be able to become a community of musicians.

Our classroom environment will improve because we will all have a variety of instruments to make music together. Teamwork at its finest.
