Help me give my students musical instruments, a piece of furniture to store and organize the instruments, and sand timers so the children may be able to take turns.
My classroom consists of special needs and typically developing children in an inclusive classroom setting. They range from three to five years old and participate in North Carolina's Prekindergarten program that seeks to prepare them for when they enter Kindergarten.
My students are working on social, emotional, and cognitive skills to be successful in kindergarten.
By working on all these skills, the children will flourish as they start school. They will be academically and emotionally more prepared to be successful in school.
My Project
We use musical instruments daily. The wrist jingle bells will be fun to use, easy for my children to hold, and will be enough for the class to all use at the same time. The timers are large enough for the children to manipulate and for several students to see and observe.
The sand timers will give the students the opportunity to take turns with the musical instruments independently.
Within our prekindergarten classroom, we are always talking and modeling ways for the children to take turns. By receiving the sand timers, the children will be able to use the instruments and take turns independently.
