My Project

When you walk into my classroom you will see energetic and eager students ready to learn and problem-solve! You wouldn't know that a gross majority live in low-income neighborhoods with limited opportunities and resources. That is why I would like to make a summer reading gift bag, for each student in my class.

My class has a passion for reading and especially loves our daily read aloud time!

At the end of the school year, some of the festivities include spending a day reading outside with beach towels. This is one of the students favorite days because they get to blow bubbles, read books with friends and spend the day enjoying some fresh air! Unfortunately, not all students have a beach towel to bring. I always plan for this and bring extra for all to enjoy.

I would love to provide all students with a summer reading bag, so they can all have the same fun experience. Each student would receive a towel to read on, glasses, bubbles and a book. After the day's festivities, the students would be able to take their materials home to continue their love of reading!
