Shade for Our Kids

My students need an outdoor carport and weight bags for protection from the sun and elements. It would be fantastic if they could have a little comfort while waiting for the bus or parent.

My Students

The students in my classroom are students with learning and emotional disabilities. Our classes serve students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities. My kids are preschool children aged 3 years old to 5 years old.

Our children have to walk to and from a parking lot approximately 50 to 75 feet to the classroom, and we all know how very hot it gets in Arizona.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in purchasing the shade awnings and weight bags! The awnings will be placed across a sidewalk where the students line up arriving and departing school. The shade will add some protection from the sun beating down on them as they wait. Our kids are fragile and require the most protection they can get. Some are medically fragile, some are developmentally fragile, and some are emotionally fragile. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' health by helping them avoid overheating. As the teacher, I would like to provide the best for my kids and in order to do that I truly need your support to make this a reality.

The donations to this project will help to keep my students from overheating while waiting arriving and departing school.
