My Project

Sewing is a life skill that is no longer just known by most people. These supplies will help my students learn a new skill in our Life Skills Class. Most of my students come through and do not know how to thread a needle or make a knot, but students this year came back after our project to tell me about something-a pair of pants, a shirt, leggings-that needed a small fix and because of the small skill I taught them, they were able to continue wearing that piece of clothing.

My goal is to not only teach students a new life skill, but to have the supplies to encourage them to grow those skills.

With the introduction of Life Skills this year, students who have now learned how to sew can have the opportunity to grow their new sewing skills with these supplies in the library.
