Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have a "passion for fashion!" I bought a few mannequins on sale, and my students' imaginations have evolved, and I would to further enhance their love for fashion.
My students love fashion and so do I.
The past few years, I have helped many of them develop fashion portfolios, which got them accepted into various fashion High School programs. They've shown such an interest in learning about and creating fashions, that I have been inspired by them to learn how to sew.
My Project
I can envision one of my students as the next Verses. They enjoy drawing fashion designs and I would love to help them in turning their drawings to clothing. The materials I requested will help my students sew costumes for performances, for displays, and for fashion portfolios that they will use for high school auditions. Some of these materials include sewing machines, rolls of tulle, a mannequin dress form, and fashion design books.
It would be "Sew special and sew sweet" if we had the ability to see our fashion drawings come to life.
These sewing machines, fashion books, and mannequins will help us do just that!
