My Project
What I love most about my students is their ability to turn challenges into opportunities and their dedication to both learning and serving others. Our vocational class began by making masks during the pandemic, and that experience sparked a passion for creating meaningful, custom products that benefit our school and local community. Since then, the students have taken ownership of their learning by expanding their skills in vinyl design, and now they are eager to grow even more.
We work closely with a group of senior citizens, including a local quilting group, and this machine will open the door for collaborative projects where students and seniors can learn from each other.
Students will be able to demonstrate their design skills, while gaining hands-on wisdom and perspective from older adults.This kind of intergenerational learning is powerful—it fosters empathy, communication, and pride in their work. It gives our students a sense of purpose, belonging, and the tools to create lasting community impact.
With the addition of this new machine, our class will be able to explore a wider range of creative techniques and product offerings, deepening both their technical skills and their real-world business understanding. Most importantly, this resource will allow us to build an even stronger bridge between generations.
