My Project

Our Makerspace has grown slowly over the past couple of years thanks to Donors Choose. We are now ready to expand it to include 2 Singer sewing machines. Our first simple project will be for students to make their own fabric bookmark. We would then like to expand it to small community service projects, such as making pillows and blankets that our local animal shelter can use. Our students don’t get opportunities to do things like sewing very often, and we believe this would be a wonderful skill they can learn at an early age that will continue to serve them as they grow older.

Our students are amazing kids who absolutely love our library and our makerspace.

They are always begging their teachers to come to makerspace and we know the sewing machines would be a HUGE hit!
