My Students

My students are such special and good people. They want so many wonderful things for themselves, their peers, our school, our community, and humankind.

You have never met a more deserving and hardworking group of young people!

As diverse as they are in ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion and culture; they come together each day to learn and grow with each other and from each other.

We are working together to build bonds to our respective communities and to enhance our school community THROUGH THE ARTS!

My Project

My middle schoolers want to help people by learning how to sew. Currently, we have one old-dinosaur-of-a-sewing-machine. It keeps breaking and I have been replacing parts, but it just is not efficient enough to work with. Their excitement is waning as we struggle to work with this ancient machine. However, they are SO excited at the prospect of acquiring new and modern machines that are geared toward beginners. The have big hopes of learning to sew garments that could be donated to those in need, particularly caps for cancer patients. Gifting to those who are suffering will teach them empathy and kindness.
