Hi! I am a sixth grade ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher in Brooklyn, NY. My students come from all different countries and are from a very low socioeconomic background. I will be looping with the same class to seventh grade in September. This year I had a proposal funded here on DonorsChoose for a class set of Reading Strategies workbooks. The workbooks have been so successful in my classroom this year that I am requesting the next level of the same workbook for next year. The workbooks contain many different short texts (fiction, non-fiction, biographies, fairy tales, etc.) and include listening and writing activities to go along with the readings. Every lesson includes a graphic organizer followed by a longer writing section. These books are wonderful practice for the English tests that they will be taking in seventh and eighth grade. I would love to have 30 copies of the workbook "Focus on Reading Strategies, Level D" so that we can build on everything we have learned this year and continue this wonderful practice next year. Please help us build our reading skills together. Thank you!
