Mrs. Bebout from Sauk Village IL is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need storage sacks, colored pencils, write & wipe boards, book bins, pencils, stamps, art clips, and sentence mats.

Welcoming students in to the new school year is sometimes a challenge. The students come from an area where working families struggle for the basics and extras are simply not accessible. With this in mind, I would like to find ways to make things easier for my students and their families. Creating an atmosphere where students will not need to worry about where their supplies are coming from for the new year.
Last year several students came to school their first day of middle school with nothing more than a smile to begin their days.
Having extra materials on hand to give the students in need would create a bond in the classroom and get started on the right foot. I already start the year off by spending a great deal of my own money on supplies. these often run out before the end of the first quarter. I make requests for supply replenishment and this falls on me to keep the supplies coming in. I realize that all teachers fall in to this category but I would like to create a closet of supplies that will help keep the students learning and progressing.
Student led and student directed activities allow for the students to control and participate in their learning. The tools listed below will allow for easy organization of their materials. The art and craft materials will allow the students to become more creative with assigned projects and activities. Many students struggle to bring in the basic materials and the additional resources will allow the groups to better explore the new common core concepts in a group setting, with their peers.
I am creating an environment where all students can excel.
Some student will need assistance with both acquiring supplies and organizing their own personal space. A cluttered mind is hard to free. Using simple tools we can create a balance in the working environment which will enable all students to excel.
I am working on creating a color coded environment in my classroom. In this area, multiple grade levels exist. This classroom is an area where space and materials need to be clearly defined. The student led environment will be created to increase student achievement. I believe that the student driven classrooms are amazing atmospheres for student mastery of concepts. The cooperative learning boundaries are limitless.
We have a defined level of organization currently in the classroom. The new year offers increased opportunities for student success. The use of additional materials will further develop the level of organization for student success.
