My Students
My students come from a diverse community in Queens, NY. They come from a huge variety of economic, religious, and cultural backgrounds. We have many ENL students who are new English-language speakers and learners. Over 80% of our students qualify for free and/or reduced lunch.
Our school works hand-in-hand with the community to ensure the highest quality education for ALL students who attend here.
We have a focus on service learning and global conservation, where the students and staff take part in fundraising and creating awareness about issues within the community and around the world. We make global partnerships and teach important citizenship values to our students through these worldwide connections.
My Project
The requested BreakoutEDU kit will help motivate my students to learn and discover about new topics and concepts. Additionally, the BreakoutEDU kit will be used for team building among my student groups.
Students will need to problem solve and overcome challenges as a team, all while completing academic work to lock the solution.
The kit includes online teachers resources, which will help me to incorporate the BreakoutEDU platform in a variety of ways and across many different subjects. I look forward to implementing BreakoutEDU into my classroom and challenging my students to work hard together to overcome challenges together as a team.
