Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
PreK is such a magical time, and I have the most amazing group of students in my class! They are finding their personalities and becoming independent, self-directed learners who learn the best when they are up and moving throughout the day. They enjoy multiple opportunities to learn new subjects in creative and exciting ways!
Our school is located in a high-need community where families do not have the ability to provide their children with the basic supplies or innovative materials we use each day to keep learning engaging and fun!
My classroom is filled with energetic learners who come to school each and every day ready to learn! We have a play-based inclusive classroom and curriculum, where all learners are supported!
My Project
Dramatic play experiences are the way my students learn about themselves. In our dramatic play center, they are able to explore their likes and dislikes, abilities and interests. They are able to act out real-world situations and take on the roles of different characters.
It is important to support dramatic play as it allows students to process their inner thoughts and emotions externally as they develop their understanding of the world around them.
The requested materials will enhance our dramatic play center by providing ways for them to safely interact with items that they regularly see in their home environments and community.
