My students need breakfast food for the weekend when school meals aren't readily available. They also need pencils, a sharpener, and a mailbox to organize their work.

My Students

Imagine waking up late one day and having to rush to school. Your day might probably go on normally, but for some of my students that means they missed breakfast and could only focus on not getting to eat. Many of my students need help getting organized. Please help to set them up for success.

My students come from high-poverty neighborhoods, and over 80% of students in our school are in the free and reduced-price lunch program.

Materialistic things and school supplies do not come easy to them, and I don't want that to be a hindrance on their learning.

My Project

Not having to worry about whether my kids will eat or not is huge deal. Aside from food, the school supplies, like pencils, are essentials in our class, yet they are a commodity. I hope that they are able to learn to be more organized with our new mailboxes and trays. Not only that, but it will help our class run more smoothly so we'll have more time for instruction. In addition, learning our sight words is an ongoing practice, and I believe it would be beneficial to have a workstation that would improve their engagement, handwriting, and sight word recognition.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn in a productive and organized classroom environment.

It would change my students' lives by not having to worry about the limited supplies we have to learn. Rather, they could focus fully on the learning itself!
