This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Scholars are planning a youth-led service learning project to make Stress-Buster Bags & Project Comfort Kits for children and teenagers in the community who may be in crisis or working towards better mental health. These products will help our class fill the bags with items that can be used for calming down. The bags will be given with Play-Doh, coloring books, writing journals, stress balls, and other items that may bring a smile to another child's face. The students will also hear from mental health professionals on how they can help friends and how to communicate with a caring adult about a friend who may be in trouble.

The goal for this project is to complete 100 full bags and provide them to community partners and to local school counselors.
