Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class consists of 28 bright-eyed students from a wide range of backgrounds. They work very hard to meet my expectations, as well as the school's expectations. They love learning new things and engaging in class discussions.
Abraham Lincoln once said, "The best way to predict your future is to create it." Each of my kids has its own challenges to overcome.
22 of my students are English Language Learners, seven are in the reading center, and two are receiving behavior-based incentives. These kids really try their best (our classroom rule #5) and know they can feel proud of themselves and their efforts at the end of the day.
My Project
These books are part of two different series options for our school challenge. We are encouraging students to get involved in a series that allows them to create a relationship with a character and follow their journey. The benefit of a series book is that students become connected with the character and want to know what will happen next. The two series in this project are books that my students have been asking to read. I would love to be able to provide them with materials that spark interest and promote growth in their capabilities.
