Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom consists of students with special needs, most of them being non-verbal. Small things can trigger them and having items to redirect them is a huge benefit to maintaining a calm classroom. Also putting these in our calming corner gives the students access to them whenever necessary.

Having these sensory toys on hand will assist us with teaching them how to calm their bodies when they are overwhelmed, making their days less stressful therefore ensuring they enjoy being in school.

Being happy at school decreases behaviors that sometimes create a ripple effect.
