My Project

We have a wonderful school that provides many of the special education classes in our district. My classroom has kindergarten and first-grade students with various capabilities and mental and physical challenges. They require many adaptive and modified materials, additional assistance, and special care from adults who share their passion and patience to encourage our young students to learn and achieve! Our students are exceptional, surprising us daily with their eagerness to learn, communication efforts, determination, compassion, playfulness, and joy!

Weighted compression vests give the feeling of a reassuring hug, which helps our students calm and focus while meeting their unique sensory needs.

The adjustable roll pillow with vibration will help with various positioning needs while also giving sensory input for calming. Straw training cups help our students be more independent with feeding, as they can hold the cup at any angle for success, while learning how to use a straw also encourages speech development. We are so grateful DonorsChoose provides a way to express our adaptive educational needs. Thank you for caring about our students and for your generous support in helping provide for our special education classroom success!
