This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The jellyfish lamp creates a calming atmosphere, reducing anxiety and helping students feel safe. For students on the autism spectrum, feeling safe and comfortable in the classroom is essential for learning. Many students with autism experience heightened sensory sensitivities, anxiety, and difficulties with changes in routine, which can make traditional learning environments overwhelming. When students feel safe, both physically and emotionally, they are more likely to engage, focus, and process new information effectively. The wobble cushions allow movement while sitting, supporting focus and comfort for students who need to fidget. The doodle board provides an alternative to traditional paper and pencil, making writing more accessible and engaging.

By incorporating these sensory-friendly tools, we can create a more inclusive and supportive classroom where every student can thrive!
