Sensory Shift

Help me give my students tools to calm down. The YESGIRL weighted cat and moving sand art picture can be motivational breaks to change a bad moment into a positive day.

My Project

Students will use sensory items to improve anxiety, calm down, and use movement to create positive mood shifts. Carpet stickers will be placed in halls to promote movement breaks. Positive stickers, posters and calming strips will be available to promote mindfulness. My students can use the Melissa and Doug Turtle Ball Pit as a way to release stress then calmly put it back together.

Sensory needs will be met by using the YESGIRL weighted cat to give a soft hug to shift a meltdown into a cuddle session.

The positive messages on the wall and on the pillow will build confidence and reinforce positive moods. These sensory items will appeal to multiple students that just need a break to turn their day around.
