This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students spend a lot of time seeking hug squeezes, spinning around in circles and otherwise looking for sensory feedback to regulate and calm their bodies so they are ready for learning. They are sweet, amazing, hard-working students but the needs of their bodies and brains can get in the way of their learning!

A spinning chair and a peapod compression chair would provide appropriate, safe sensory input to give my students the spins and squeezes they need to regulate their bodies and set their brains back on track for learning!

I will be able to put these tools in our calm down/sensory area so students may access them throughout the day to quickly reset their bodies and brains and get back to learning!
