Sensory items would be used to help develop students' senses. Too often we are not able to provide experiences that help develop each bodily sense. Our students are unable to experience science or children's museums that are often the hub for these. Our students live four to six hours away from any museums and two to three hours away from a Public Library. Often the school site becomes not only the learning community but the community of experiences for students.
These sensory items like the light cube, light table, fake aquarium, and sensory lights will help build our sensory room.
This will give our students the ability to ignite each of their senses, learn calming techniques, and help them focus more during classroom instruction.
