Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This sensory equipment for our sensory room can play a crucial role in supporting my students with extensive support needs in regulating their bodies and facilitating learning. My students often face challenges in processing sensory information, which can impact their ability to stay calm, focused, and engaged. Our sensory room provides a controlled environment where students can explore and interact with various sensory stimuli, helping them to regulate their sensory experiences and emotions.
Our sensory room helps my students who may be overstimulated or anxious to feel more at ease and ready to engage in learning activities.
Additionally, some sensory activities can provide opportunities for students to engage in movement and proprioceptive input, which can help them improve their body awareness, coordination, and motor skills. Overall, this sensory equipment will help create a supportive environment where my students can regulate their bodies, manage sensory challenges, and ultimately, enhance their learning experiences.
