We are starting a sensory room at our school for 3 year olds to first grade. We would use the sensory table in our new room for breaks and calming activities for our special education students. It is very beneficial to our students with Autism and ADHD. I borrowed one to try out in my classroom and the students love it! They like to squeeze the sand through their fingers and also search for hidden objects within the sand. It helps calm them during stressful times. When they enter my room it is the first place they go before we start work. They will squeeze it a few times and say they are ready to go. It has made an amazing difference in them!
