My Project

My class has a max of 11 wonderful, boisterous, opinionated, curious students - who just happen to have special needs. We learn and grow together, usually for three years. We become a family - navigating through each other's idiosyncrasies, celebrating milestones, and developing lifelong connections. Most of my students have deficits in at least language and motor development.

Sensory play stimulates a child's brain.

Children explore, manipulate, and describe the materials and tools. They pretend to be farmers or mermaids or astronauts. The sensory play exposes children to new vocabulary, movements, and body awareness.
