My Project

As a preschool teacher dedicated to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment, I have the privilege of working with a diverse group of young autistic learners. For many of these children, sensory processing can be overwhelming, making it difficult for them to engage in learning and social activities. To support their unique needs, I am seeking your help to provide a Lycra Sensory Cuddle Box in our classroom.

The Lycra Sensory Cuddle Box offers a safe, dedicated sensory-friendly calming space where students can take a break, allowing them to calm their bodies and return to learning more effectively.

We currently lack a dedicated sensory space that meets these sensory needs. The stretchy, soft material creates a comforting sensory experience that can reduce anxiety, help children focus, and provide a quiet retreat from the busy classroom environment.

Autistic children often have unique sensory needs, and these needs are heightened in a busy preschool setting, where the sensory input is constant. One effective way to support these students is through sensory tools designed to provide calming, proprioceptive, and deep-pressure input. The Cuddle Box is a specially designed, stretchy, and soft fabric structure that provides deep-pressure sensory input in a safe and comforting environment. This sensory tool is especially effective for children who seek proprioceptive input, and it can help reduce anxiety, increase focus, and provide a sense of security.

Preschool is a place of exploration and growth, but for children with sensory sensitivities, the constant noise, lights, and movement can be overwhelming. The Cuddle Box will give these children a sensory-friendly area where they can regain control and feel safe. It is essential we provide these young autistic learners the tools to recognize when they need a break in order to provide them with the best learning environment possible.
